Anton Glieder studied at the Universities of Vienna & Graz, Austria, was postdoc at the Graz University of Technology and at Caltech (Frances Arnold Lab) and worked as head of product development at the fresh fruit processing company Steirerfrucht,  from 1997-1999. 2003 he became Associate Professor for Biotechnology at the TU Graz, received the first Houska Prize (1stplace), highest distinction in Applied University Research in Austria in 2006 and in 2008, following Prof. Herfried Griengl, he was appointed as scientific director of the research centre Angewandte Biokatalyse GmbH. He is also cofounder of the Austrian Centre of Industrial Biotechnology (ACIB) and the university spin off company Bisy E.U. At TU Graz his young research team is focused on protein and pathway expression and engineering.
