Sabine Suppmann holds a degree in Microbiology from the University of Munich, Germany. In 2006, she joined the Max-Planck-Institute of Biochemistry to establish a protein production service which she is conducting ever since.  She provides both in-house services and training for molecular cloning, protein production, purification and biophysical characterization. To overcome major bottlenecks in this field she has developed amongst others a parallel expression vector series, a re-usable bioreactor, a shortened baculovirus expression procedure etc. She is co-founder and coordinator of the P4EU network of Core Facilities major contributions as the recent benchmarking study of baculovirus expression. In her presentation she will highlight the ups and downs of a Protein Production Platform.
