Sabine Suppmann holds a degree in Microbiology from the University of Munich, Germany. In 2006, she joined the Max-Planck-Institute of Biochemistry to establish a protein production service which she is conducting ever since.  She provides both in-house services and training for molecular cloning, protein production, purification and biophysical characterization. To overcome major bottlenecks in this field she has developed amongst others a parallel expression vector series, a re-usable bioreactor, a shortened baculovirus expression procedure etc. She is co-founder and coordinator of the P4EU network of Core Facilities https://p4eu.org/with major contributions as the recent benchmarking study of baculovirus expression. In her presentation she will highlight the ups and downs of a Protein Production Platform.
